BOTH! Choose in-person, virtual, or a combination!

If you are craving that in-person experience, join us at the Adult High School. There is a complete program of a plenary, keynote and afternoon panel, as well as workshops in both the morning and afternoon.

Want to stay home in your pjs? The plenary, keynote and afternoon panel will be live streamed! There will also be a separate program of virtual workshops available in the morning and afternoon. As at past virtual PD Days, some in person field trips have been arranged for the afternoon.
We had a “soft hold” on the Rogers Centre for the predicted date. By the time the board decided which PD Day would be our Federation Day, the Rogers Centre was no longer available.
Yes. There was a team trying to find another venue for April 27th. There are surprisingly few that can accommodate a large crowd for the plenary/keynote AND offer breakout rooms for workshops. No other venue that fits these criteria was available on April 27th.
Come to the Adult High School!
The platform works on all standard tech, including phones and Chromebooks. To streamline the experience you might want to download the app if you are using your phone, but that’s optional.
OC ETFO members only need to register for in-person “field trips”. You will be sent login information to access the online platform, which will include the virtual workshops, on the week of April 20th. *If you are an OT/LTO, you need to register with OCEOTA.
If you click on the Workshops tab it has details about the sessions and presenters.
Just bring your earphones to the AHS! There will be space set aside for you to access online content on your device.
YES! The plenary, keynote, panel and closing will all be livestreamed.
Based on feedback from last year’s PD Day, our PD Committee has worked hard to find virtual and in person workshops on a variety of topics. Availability and price were also factors. If you have any ideas for workshops that you don’t see reflected this year, please remember to fill out the post-PD Day survey to help guide next year’s committee.
No. There are only about 200 spots. However, it is easily accessible by transit, and we will have shuttle buses available around the city. The Getting Around tab has additional information, as well as a map of paid parking in the area. (As in past years, parking will NOT be reimbursed.)
IN PERSON- YES! There will be coffee and tea available in the morning. There will also be a cold lunch and beverages served by Bytown Catering. (If you opt to stay home, there will be no reimbursement for your meals.) Want to go offsite? There are some great restaurants in the area. *Please bring your own water bottle.
So many ways! There will be contests leading up to the event that will be shared with you via email. There will also be prizes for carpooling, taking public transit and using the shuttles.
Our committee has been working hard on this event since September. We have also had lots of help from the OC ETFO office staff: Jessica Linnay, Margo Charles and Cindy Broderick. We're always looking for volunteers to help, both this year and with future PD Days! If you're interested in joining the committee or assisting in any way, please reach out to Melcha Wolanski.
